It all began with a burger. A bite so inspirational that it led to EPIC ideas. And EPIC ideas that led to EPIC questions. Like, what if meat could be sourced more mindfully? And what if there was a line of meat-based snacks that gave back to the land they came from, supported a healthy ecosystem, and tasted EPIC?
That’s what Taylor and Katie set out to do, leaving their vegetarian lifestyle in the rear-view mirror to make it happen. Now, EPIC’s history is filled with some cool stories. One of them that gets passed down from person to person is that EPIC is the world’s first 100% grass fed meat, fruit, and nut bar. Is it really the world’s first? We can’t say for sure, but it does sound EPIC.
And that’s how it happened. EPIC introduced the Bison Bacon Cranberry Bar. This perennial bestseller is made with our two favorite meats: 100% grass-fed bison and uncured bacon. It’s then paired with bittersweet cranberry, sea salt, brown sugar, and other seasonings to create a diverse blend of flavors and textures. For those following a paleo lifestyle or are gluten-free, this bar is a dream come true.
When EPIC was first created, the North American grass-fed bison supply chain was around 2% of bison sourced. Since 2014, we have continued to incentivize and seek partnerships with ranchers who are open to converting their herd to a grass-finished program. Due to the overwhelming support of our loyal customers, that’s you, we have been able to increase the market demand for high-quality grass-fed animals and we are pushing ahead stronger than ever.
EPIC’s mission to contribute to a movement of sustainable farming practices doesn’t stop with the Bison Bacon Cranberry Bar. You’ll see this commitment across many things we do at EPIC including the way we process orders on our website. Thanks to our partnership with Stripe Climate, we’re able to turn transactions into something good for the planet. Reducing global CO₂ in the atmosphere is a key part of helping to mitigate the catastrophic threat of climate change. Proving over and over again, that when you buy EPIC, you help make EPIC things happen.
Wow, that must’ve been one hell of a burger.
