Beef Bone Broth Bloody with Bacon Salt Rim
Serves 2
INGREDIENTS
1 bottle of EPIC Beef Jalapeño Sea Salt Bone Broth (14 oz)
16 oz of fresh tomato Bloody Mary mix (we dig Lauren’s Garden Mix- fresh juices without added sugar)
1/4 cup EPIC Hickory Bacon Bits or EPIC Bacon Bites
1/4 tsp. smoked paprika (optional)
1 tsp. fine sea salt
1 to 2 tb. honey (for rimming glasses only)
METHOD
Prepare bacon paprika salt mixture first. This can be made 1 to 2 days in advance. Set up your food processor with a standard circular blade. Process the bacon bits (or bites), smoked paprika and sea salt on high for 30 seconds or until chopped fine. Bacon bits should be processed to approximately the size of rice granules or smaller. If preparing in advance, store in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator until ready to serve. If you prefer, the bacon paprika salt mixture can also be made using a mortar and pestle. Hand grind all 3 ingredients together until above results are achieved.
To prepare glasses, drip honey onto a rimmed plate in the shape of a circle with a circumference the same size as your serving glass. One at a time, turn your empty serving glass upside down and press it into the honey. Move it around just slightly to ensure the rim of the glass is evenly coated with honey. Carefully lift glass slowly and allow excess honey to drip back to the plate. Repeat for all serving glasses.
Pour bacon paprika salt mixture onto a separate rimmed plate. One at a time, carefully dip the honey edged glasses into the mixture and rotate until the rims are fully coated. In a pitcher, mix the beef bone broth and Bloody Mary mix together. When ready to serve, fill each bacon salt rimmed glass with ice using a spoon. As the mixture sits, it will naturally separate. Stir just prior to service.
Fill glasses to the rim with bone broth bloody. Top it off with a fancy straw and cheers to peaceful world domination!
Want to add some vodka for a Mary or tequila for a Maria? That's up to you! Just add 1 oz of either to the rimmed glass full of ice before adding the bone broth bloody mixture. Stir gently with a long spoon and enjoy responsibly.
