Beef Raised With Practices to Reduce Carbon Emissions

FOOD MATTERS

How your food is raised and grown has an incredible impact on the environment, and every purchase you make is a vote for the agricultural practices you want to support. The Beef Barbacoa Inspired Bar is our first bar to bear the Ecological Outcome Verification seal, illustrating the beef in this product was raised with practices that improve soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem function. A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study, conducted by a third-party sustainability science firm, confirmed that White Oak Pastures, EPIC's supplier of beef for this product, uses a variety of practices, such as composting and converting degraded cropland to perennial pasture, to offset 80% of its emissions from all 10 livestock species on the farm. This illustrates the importance of looking at the entire farm as an ecosystem.
