EPIC is proud to announce that we’ve been recognized as a leading up-and-coming Austin startup on the 2015 Austin A-List, compiled with insight from venture capital, private equity and angel investors from around the country. The 12 members of the 2015 A-List represent key sectors of innovation including big data, biotechnology, hardware, software, consumer packaged goods, music technology, agriculture, medical devices, e-commerce and mobile app development.
EPIC was recognized for our work in revolutionizing the way that consumers conceptualize and enjoy meat based protein snacks. Since launching, EPIC has been the fastest growing nutrition bar company in the natural foods industry. This momentum has landed the company national distribution in stores like Whole Foods Market, REI, Vitamin Shoppe, Sprouts, and Natural Grocers. Leading an emerging category, EPIC continues to innovate and expand our offerings of animal meats and product lines. With the recent launch of the EPIC Bites and the rebrand of the EPIC Hunt & Harvest, the company is continuing to push the boundaries in categories outside of nutritional bars.
In our acceptance speech, co-founder Taylor Collins reinforced that the true value of the EPIC brand is creating nutrient rich food that improves the health of consumers, enriches the lives of animals, and aims to restore the land on which we depend. Collins also noted that in a city that is dominated by tech start-ups, it was both an honor and testament to Austin's appreciation of CPG food and beverage innovation. "Austin is full of innovative and category disrupting food brands. Because the community is so supportive, this is the best city to take a chance and start a CPG food or beverage company."
