The Direct Sales Manager will work closely with the sales and marketing team to plan, execute, and manage multiple sales outlets within NYC metro area. This position will be responsible for all things sales in the NYC metro area – ranging from selling into new accounts, managing existing accounts, merchandising, managing DSD and broker networks, etc.

This position will be responsible for all things sales in the NYC metro area – ranging from selling into new accounts, managing existing accounts, merchandising, managing DSD and broker networks, etc.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Identify and execute on opportunities to expand the sales of EPIC across ALL retail channels throughout the NYC metro area

  1. Work closely with EPIC broker and distributor networks to maximize sales and distribution opportunities
  2. Further the development, sales, and promotion of EPIC to build brand awareness and loyalty locally and at store level
  3. Execute on EPICs incentive programs through distributor, broker, and retail level to increase sales and gain distribution throughout the region
  4. Conducting daily and/or weekly store audits (account dependent) to ensure merchandising standards are adhered to and promotional programming is being executed
  5. Identify opportunities to build strong connections with in-store employees at key accounts to further drive EPIC brand awareness and presence
  6. Identify and complete weekly sales and merchandising calls on influencer accounts (including natural specialty food stores, up-and-down retailers, colleges and universities, chain accounts, corporate cafes, etc) with a focus on account development to achieve maximum sales potential
  7. Identify and execute on accounts that would benefit from sampling and in-store demos
  8. Execute POS and secondary placement opportunities at all influencer accounts
  9. Translate national business strategy into clear and locally executable plans. Focus resources accordingly within NYC area
  10. Conduct weekly “route rides” with our DSD partner and natural food brokers
  11. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create comprehensive marketing plans to profitably increase market share
  12. Analyze monthly void reports and pinpoint opportunities for underperforming accounts and routes

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in sales
  • High level experience in the Natural Products Industry with CPG selling background in dry snacks and beverage spaces highly preferred
  • Strong planning and organizational skills along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills, including full competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
  • Proven Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in an autonomous, hands-on, fast paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly adaptable & resourceful
  • Passion for an active health & wellness lifestyle
  • Proficient in Data Tools (SPINS, WFM Portal, Retailer Portals), Microsoft Excel and Trade Analytics (selling price, margins, etc)
  • Ability to travel extensively within the NYC metro area. Clean driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
